#FeatureFridays- Unique Something Blue Designs by Cynthia Akita Couture

As a designer, I like to spend my time looking at the works of other talented designers, so when I came across the work of Cynthia Akita of Cynthia Akita Couture I absolutely had to feature her designs. Just look at the gorgeous deeply royal blue hues of her unique gowns and designs, as well as the artistic usage of fabrication, details, and design elements.
Here are a few of my #prettybluehue favorites:
Sapphire Gown, starts at $400~ Laser cut neoprene a-line gown featuring a plunged sweetheart neckline. It has interchangeable off/on-shoulder short sleeves, silver rhinestone applique at the waist. It also has an underlining peplum skirt in gray with a v-shaped back.
Aquelle Cocktail Dress, starts at $270~ Flora embroidered lace cocktail dress an elongated keyhole and bell sleeves with an elastic fit. The backside of the dress is a V-shaped low back with a V-shaped slit.
Alexa Gown, starts at $300~ A long sleeve, paisley jacquard trumpet gown with a sophisticated slight v-shaped peplum ruffle and v-shaped back.
How long have you been in business? I've been in business since 2011. I operated as Coruscate Innovations where I was mainly focused on Ankara fashion, however, this year, I changed my name to Cynthia Akita Couture where I specialize more in special occasion attire although I still use Ankara fabrics.
What made you start your business? I had always wanted to be a fashion designer at some point in my life. I would always do little gown sketches at school and thought I would open a store when I finished becoming a doctor, however being a doctor wasn't something that I wanted to do any longer and so moved forward with fashion, and HERE I AM!

What is your favorite blue hue:
Royal Blue
Any advice for unique ideas to include something blue in a wedding?
In terms of the dress, they can wear dyed shoes to match the blue of heir choice. If it's for the dress, they can actually add blue tulle underneath and have a bit of it showing if they desire. In terms of the event itself, a couple can surprise everyone by having the inside of the cake colored blue although it may taste like vanilla.
